The PureShield is engineered for the highest level of sonic and visual performance — a standard we couldn't find anywhere else, so we built it ourselves.
It was made to solve the oldest problem in live drums: how do you take control of an acoustic kit without killing the energy that makes it worth mic'ing in the first place? Most solutions force a trade — isolation or openness, control or natural feel. We weren't willing to accept that, because we'd lived with every version of that compromise ourselves.
Born from real problems.
We didn't design the PureShield in a vacuum. We built it because nothing on the market actually worked for us:
- Full cages introduced rough phase issues that made our drum tones feel inaccurate — in the house, in our in-ear mixes, and online.
- Curved shields reflected sound inconsistently — the curvature created many of the same phase issues as a full cage.
- Baffles opened the kit up but gave us almost no control. We ended up building entire mixes around ambient drums and pushing levels far louder than the average listener wanted.
Every option also broke the visual experience. Enclosures made the kit hard to light naturally and left it feeling disconnected from the rest of the band — both in the room and online. Curved shields warped the light. Baffles put a wall of hardware on camera.
That's when we decided to build the PureShield — and it solved every one of those problems in a single product, better than anything we'd tried.

Our flat, square design isn't a style choice — it's the fix. Flat acrylic disturbs far less light than a curved panel, so stage lighting on the kit reads controlled and natural instead of warped across a curve. That same flat geometry cuts reflections dramatically, so your cameras see the drummer instead of a glare. Whether your audience is in the room or watching the stream, the PureShield disappears and the performance comes through.
